Cast aluminum is as practical as it is decorative. It adds beauty and distinction to your home and will not rust. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use. Cast aluminum is sand casted and hand finished, so minor differences in pieces within a set can be expected.
The frames have an electro- statically applied powder-coated paint finish and in some cases a hand applied antiquing. You may touch up small scratches or nicks with touch up paint available for purchase from our store. To clean your furniture, a periodic sponging using a mild non- abrasive detergent is all that is necessary. Be sure to rinse frames thoroughly and let air- dry.
Unlike indoor wicker, all-weather outdoor wicker is either made of resin, vinyl, or polyurethane coated Loom woven around a powder coated aluminum frame, to make furniture impervious to the elements. This creates ideal outdoor furniture. The vinyl resin material is very durable and will not fade, crack or peel.
To clean your resin or vinyl outdoor wicker, wash frames with a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. To clean "Loom" product use a damp rag or sponge (do not soak with a hose) and let air dry.
Aluminum is widely used in the construction of outdoor furniture because it is extremely durable, lightweight, can be formed into many styles and shapes, and will not rust. Your aluminum frames have an electro- statically applied powder-coated paint finish. This finishing process is similar to the one used in the automotive industry. However, if over the course of time, nicks or scratches appear on the painted frame, you can easily "touch-up" the furniture using touch up paint available for purchase at our store.
DO NOT USE WAX ON TEXTURED FINISHES
To clean the frames, use a mild non-abrasive cleanser. Your aluminum frames may come with vinyl straps to support your cushions. These straps can be cleaned by using mild soap and water or a commercial vinyl cleaner.
Teak is an extremely dense, fine-grained hardwood. Our teak furniture features mortise and tenon joinery for precise fit and unequaled durability. Teak furniture should be kept clean by scrubbing with detergent or steel wool and water. The original golden color of teak can be maintained with the use of specially formulated teak maintenance products available for purchase at our store. We carry cleaners and water based preservatives that will keep the golden color of your furniture. Left untreated your furniture will eventually "patina" to a soft silvery color. Do not pressure clean your teak. Pressure cleaning will extract the natural protective oils inherent in teak. We suggest not oiling your teak as that will trap dirt and create mildew spots over time. Eventually, unfinished teak wood will weather to a soft gray.
Most umbrellas we sell use solution dyed acrylics and are bleach cleanable if needed. You may remove your umbrella canopy and place in a large washing machine on gentle cycle using a mild clothing detergent. Your must place the canopy back on the frame and let air-dry. Do not place your canopy in a dryer. This will shrink and or melt your canopy. If you do not have access to a large washer you may use a soft brush with a mild detergent solution, rinse well and open your umbrella and let air-dry.
Most cushions available today are made using Sunbrella Brand fabric or other acrylic type fabrics. To clean solution dyed acrylics, use a mild detergent and water with a soft brush to remove debris. Rinse thoroughly and allow the cushions to air-dry off the frame. For tougher satins or mildew many of our fabrics are bleach cleanable. Be sure you have purchased a colorfast bleach cleanable fabric before using bleach. Prepare a dilute bleach solution 8 parts water to one part bleach and add a small amount of mild dish soap. (Using gloves for protection) use a soft brush to clean and remove debris from the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove any bleach residue. Let air dry off the frame.
